The Seattle Pop Festival had The Doors and Led Zeppelin and The Newport Folk Festival included James Taylor and Joni Mitchell. The Rolling Stones had a free concert at Hyde Park.

Dark Folks – This month features some very interesting and intriguing folk albums, Tim Buckley’s Happy Sad and Nick Drake – Five Leaves Left. Besides some music similarities (haunting, beautiful, melancholy), they also died at an early age of drug overdoses. Both artists were also a bit under the radar at the time of their releases, but grew more in popularity and impact in later years. Note: Tim Buckley is the father of musician Jeff Buckley.
