The British band, The Yardbirds, disbands. The Yardbirds guitarist Jimmy Pages recruits new band members that would eventually form the band Led Zeppelin. Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) and The Band both release their debut album.

  • Childhood Memory: I remember hearing a lot of what I like to call “soft rock” or even a better name “AM Gold” playing on the radio when I was growing up. These stations were played a lot when I went with my parents on long road trips or family vacations. A song I distinctly remember hearing many times playing from my parents 1970’s Pontiac was Harry Nilsson’s “Everybody’s Talkin'”. When I hear that song it instantly takes me back to those fond memories of my youth.
