Random Musings:

I’ve got the BluesI don’t know when I first heard the blues or when I got into blues music. The Rolling Stones aren’t a blues band, but they were certainly influenced by the blues. Some of their albums, like Beggars Banquet have some great bluesy songs. I’ve been listening to the Stones for as long as I remember and maybe they helped point me in the direction of the blues. Speaking of the blues, my Album Rewind Pick of the Month, “The Natch’l Blues” by Taj Mahal is a great blues album. Taj Mahal seems to have such a modern sound, it’s not dated at all. If I didn’t know, I would guess that Natch’l Blues is a new release, and not released 55 years ago!

What a TripThe Pretty Things “S.F. Sorrowis a pretty damn good psychedelic album. This would have been a fun album to have on vinyl back in the day. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I was originally going to have it as a C tier album, but it quickly moved up to a B. This might be one of those albums that grows on me more and more and might even move up to an A tier. Check this one out of you are a fan of psychedelic music.
