Album Rewind update – Learning to Blog

I have updated my most recent page, October 1968. As blogging is still relatively new to me, I’m continuing to learning this on the fly. I have made some small cosmetic changes to each page to both make it look better and flow better as well.

One thing I’ve learned is the difference between the “pages” on a blog and a “post”. I always envisioned this blog as having a menu on top of the website that broke each year into the different months I would be reviewing. For example, 1967 as a main category and then each month, January, February, etc. under that main category. This keeps it easy to quickly look up different years and months. So, that is what the “page” part of this website/blog is. The main menu on top, with drop downs to different months for each year.

A typical blog has updates on the main page and I have learned these are called “posts”. I recently learned that I can copy an internal link (page) to a post. That means that each time I update a page (for example, October 1968) I can now put that link on the main page. Are you confused? Good, because I am a little too.

The easiest way to put this is now my updates for each month (ex. – June 1967) will now be found on not only on the main menu and drop down menus, but will also be found on the the main page as a new post.
