Random Musings:
What is the Big Pink? The Big Pink is named after a pink house in New York where Bob Dylan and The Band recorded “The Basement Tapes”. The Band also wrote the album Music From Big Pink in the same house. Music from the Big Pink is one of the most best and most influential albums of all-time and contains the all-time classic song “The Weight”.
Speaking of names – The name of the band Creedence Clearwater Revival comes from a mix of Tom Fogerty’s friend named Credence Newball, a phrase (clearwater) from an Olympia Beer commercial and Revival because the band got back together after two years of military service.
Childhood memory – I remember hearing a lot of what I like to call “soft rock” or even a better name “AM Gold” playing on the radio when I was growing up. These stations were played a lot when I went with my parents on long road trips or family vacations. A song I distinctly remember hearing many times playing from my parents 1970’s Pontiac was Harry Nilsson’s “Everybody’s Talkin'”. When I hear that song it instantly takes me back to those fond memories of my youth.
