Random Musings:
Fly – For a month that didn’t have much to offer, besides James Carr and Merle Haggard’s albums, the song “Fly” by J.K & Co. really stands out. While it does sound like a song of it’s time, to me it also has a very modern alternative rock sound. I wonder if this song or group influenced any bands of the 80’s or 90’s?
James Carr does is again – This is the second James Carr album to make my Album Rewind Pick of the Month. I went from having no idea who he was to having two of my favorite albums of this period. Two great soul albums that I will need to add to my vinyl collection in the future.
Notable Singles released this month – Jimi Hendrix – “All Along the Watchtower” and Cream – “White Room”
